Focus was founded by 2 local residents of Berlin who have numerous years of experience in the outpatient therapy setting. Founders Marcus Bacon and Steve DeFrancesco both have their Degrees in Physical Therapy and are active members of the American Physical Therapy Association. They began their careers in a large corporate setting, where they gained experience and clinical knowledge that they are now looking to bring to a patient focused clinic where they can provide one on one care and attention to their clients.
Focus not only provides sports medicine to athletes, but it provides a wide variety of services from orthopedic care, pediatrics, orthotic fitting and prescription, women’s health and geriatric care.
Marcus Bacon is originally from Orange, Massachusetts and now resides in Kensington, CT.. He graduated from Springfield College in 2002 with a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy. After graduation, he joined a large outpatient corporation and held several positions, including center manager, over his 6-year employment. With specialization in advanced orthopedic injuries, Marcus decided to leave the corporate world and open his own physical therapy clinic. His vision focused on quality of care and improving functional needs.

Steve Defrancesco is a Berlin native. He grew up in town and attended BHS. Steve attended The University of Hartford, and upon graduation in 1997, he returned to his hometown for permanent residence. Steve has spent the last 11 years developing his physical therapy skills in a number of different capacities. Most recently, he was an administrator over-seeing multiple offices in the area. However, his dream was to one day own his own practice. Today that dream has come true. Steve specializes in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and pilates rehabilitation. His focused dedication to his craft separates him from the competition.

Megha Patel grew up in Newington, CT and attended Newington High School. After completion of high school, she earned her Masters in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Connecticut in 2007. After graduating, she began working for a large outpatient physical therapy corporation. Her interests include outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, women's health and pediatrics. In February 2011, Megha joined our team and now works in a setting which is focused on individualized patient care and quality rehabilitation.
Diana Pulaski was born in Meriden, CT and has been a Berlin resident since age nine. After graduating Berlin High School in 2006, she attended Central Connecticut State University majoring in Communication. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism in December 2010. Diana joined our team in January 2011. As our clinic’s receptionist, she is focused on answering questions regarding scheduling, insurance coverage and benefits, and providing information about any other inquiries you may have during your rehabilitation.
